duncan james: taking one for the team
July 12, 2009Duncan James from Blue has just come out to the News of the World. As far as exclusive celebrity interviews go, this one is full of every single possible key message / answer to every possible question he might be asked after coming out.
First off, kudos to Duncan for doing this and massive kudos to his publicist for making sure he answered every single question in the exclusive interview with the News of the World.

Two key Q&As that I am sure he worked long and hard on with his publicist (note that this interview took place on the “eve of the boyband’s reunion tour”:
Q: Are you going to stop sleeping with women now?
A: I know most gay guys think, ‘Bi Now, Gay Later’ and maybe one day the thought of being with a woman won’t work for me. But likewise, maybe the thought of being with a guy might be the same. I might want to settle down with a girl to have a family lifestyle. That appeals to me too.
Q: Were all of your relationships with women cover ups?
A: I’d had very high-profile relationships. They weren’t frauds or cover-ups. They were real. I loved Claire [mother of his child]. It wasn’t an immaculate conception!
By far the most hilarious quote from the NOTW interview is:
“Yes, I was labelled a womaniser and yes, I did sleep with a lot of women. But there were tell-tale signs I was that way inclined. I’ve always been very theatrical and loved being on stage.”
At least this interview will bag Blue a few new fans and column inches in the gay and celebrity pages over the course of their reunion tour.
